Hwy 75 Corridor update
Recently Completed Projects
- A roundabout construction project at the intersection of Hwy 75 and Clay County Road 12/60th Avenue South, south of Moorhead, was completed in September 2011. The roundabout is the first one in District 4 and was constructed in partnership with Clay County.
2012 Projects
- Phase II of a flood project to repair road damage in Moorhead during the 2009 Red River flood protection effort is scheduled for 2012 on Hwy 10/75 between 34th Street and Eighth Street, on Eighth Street between Center Avenue and 40th Avenue and on Main Avenue between Eighth Street and the Red River bridge. It will include accessibility improvements, pedestrian/bike improvements, installation of a High Intensity Activated Crosswalk signal near Concordia College and traffic signal revisions with interconnection technology. A mill and inlay on Main Avenue (Hwy 10) between Eighth Street and the Red River bridge is also part of this project.
2013 Projects
- A roundabout will be constructed at 50th Avenue in Moorhead. The project is a partnership with the city of Moorhead and the design will be based on a 2008 corridor study completed in June 2008 in cooperation with FMCOG, the city of Moorhead and Clay County.
- Mill and overlay projects are planned between Wilkin County Road 20 and Hwy 9 at Doran, Hwy 12 and Hwy 7 in Big Stone County and between Moorhead and the Clay/Wilkin county line.
2016 Projects
- An interchange reconstruction project at the Hwy 75 interchange in Moorhead is planned. Loop ramps will be added to the northeast and southeast quadrants of the interchange to eliminate left turn movements and pedestrian/bicycle improvements will be made. An auxiliary lane on eastbound I-94 will be added from Eighth Street to 20th Street to accommodate peak morning and afternoon traffic. The project is based on a corridor study that was completed in June 2008 in cooperation with Fargo-Moorhead Council of Governments, the city of Moorhead and Clay County.
- Two bridges, over Whiskey Creek near Kent and over Doran Slough near Doran, are planned for replacement.
