Access and safety improvements will be made to Hwy 371 in Nisswa. As part of this project, the signalized intersection at Crow Wing CR 18 and Hwy 371 will be realigned approximately one block south. Additional information is available at: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/hwy371nisswa/index.html
8.1 miles of the existing two-lane highway will be expanded to a divided four-lane highway from Nisswa to Jenkins. This project includes construction of a bypass of Pequot Lakes.
Hwy 371 from Nisswa to Pine River is a medium priority interregional corridor connecting the central Minnesota lakes area to the Twin Cities metro area. Growing traffic volumes and high recreational peaks lead to operational and safety concerns on this corridor. Annual average daily traffic on this segment of Hwy 371 was 11,300 in 2009 and is expected to increase.
