About this Project

This project includes five miles of pavement preservation, shoulder widening, improvements to horizontal and vertical alignments, and culvert work in Little Marais.

This is one of a series of projects that have been completed on Highway 61 between Two Harbors and Grand Marais. To date, more than $115 million has been spent on two-lane reconstruction in this corridor.

Highway 61 is a two-lane roadway along the Lake Superior shore. It is part of the Highway 61 All American Road Scenic Byway.
