About the project
The project expands Hwy 53 from County Road 652 (Goodell Road) to Cook into a four-lane highway, with wider shoulders, turn lanes at intersecting roads and median cross-overs.
This segment of Hwy 53 is part of the federally designated “Falls to Falls” high-priority trade corridor. It is the last remaining section in the expansion of Highway 53 into a four-lane corridor between Virginia and Cook.
