MnDOT Aeronautics Adopt-A-School Program Nationally Recognized
MnDOT Aeronautics, Aviation Education, Safety, and Training Section was recognized for its Adopt-A-School program by the presentation of the NASAO Center Aviation Education Program Award at the 77th Annual National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) Convention and Tradeshow. The convention, held in Anchorage, Alaska, September 27- 30, 2008, was attended by Aeronautics Directors from more than 40 states, along with industry experts and Federal Aviation Administration officials.
Ray Rought receives Kenneth A. Rowe Award & Education Section wins Most Innovative State Program Award
Ray J Rought, former Director of Aeronautics, received the prestigious Kenneth A. Rowe Ambassador of Aviation Award at the 76th Annual National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) Convention. At the same 76th Annual National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) convention, MnDOT Aeronautics Aviation Safety, Education, & Training Manager Janese Thatcher received the Most Innovative State Program Award.

Minnesota Aviation Education Employees Earn Federal Recognition
Four Minnesota Department of Transportation employees were recognized today by the Federal Aviation Administration for outstanding and consistent promotion of K-12 aviation education throughout Minnesota.

Office of Aeronautics, Aviation Education Receives National Honor
The Aviation Education Section earned honors from the National Association of State Aviation Officials for its Aviation Career Curriculum and Education Program.

MnDOT Aeronautics Nationally Recognized for Safe Flying
The Board of Directors of the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) recently issued a Corporate Business Flying Safety Award to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), Office of Aeronautics for completing 30 years, and 19,391 accident and injury free, flight hours.
