2008 Customer and Public Opinion Survey Results & Executive Summary
Purpose:
The current mission of the Office of Aeronautics is to promote aviation, aviation safety, and aviation education by supporting local governments in the planning, operation, maintenance, and development of public airport facilities.
Through the use of a mail survey representing both customers and the general population in the state of Minnesota, the purpose of this research project was to meet the following informational objectives:
- determine the appropriateness and priority for the products and services provided by the Office of Aeronautics, as perceived by its customers
- understand if there are areas in which there are more or less resources needed than in others, according to customer use and perceptions
- learn more about the general public’s understanding of the presence/importance of local airports and their opinion of the mission/direction of the Office of Aeronautics
The goal was not to evaluate performance of the Office in each service area, but rather to gain feedback on the prioritization of service levels as perceived by customers and the general public.
