Former President Roosevelt flies in a Wright Biplane

October 11, 1910 former president Theodore Roosevelt becomes the first Chief Executive to fly. He went aloft as a passenger in a Wright Biplane, flown by pilot Archie Hoxsey, over St. Louis.

First parachute jump from a powered airplane. Albert Berry jumped in a test over Jefferson Barracks military post, St. Louis, Missouri (March 1,1912). Some sources credit Grant Morton as making first jump in 1911.
