Minnesota Aerospace Educator Hall of Fame
Minnesota Department of Transportation – Aeronautics in cooperation with the North Central Region - Aerospace Education Association are dedicated to honoring and recognizing the accomplishments of those aerospace educators who have made significant contributions by promoting aerospace through education.
Objective:
To recognize a Minnesota aerospace educator who demonstrates or has demonstrated outstanding contributions to aviation and space education through a noteworthy achievement and/or significant contributions to aerospace education over a continuous period of time.
Eligibility Criteria:
This award is open to Minnesota teachers (K-12 or college/university) past or present who have demonstrated excellence in furthering the concepts of aerospace education in the classroom through successful, innovative curricular classroom programs .
This person must have demonstrated leadership in promoting Aerospace Education through any discipline. Their peers should recognize him or her as a teacher who has motivated and inspired students, especially in aerospace activities.
Qualifications:
This award recognizes the accomplishments of a superior aerospace educator and his or her contributions to the profession and with lasting influence in aerospace education through:

Achieving outstanding student performance by setting high standards for students.

Resourceful in developing and implementing curriculum and aerospace activities.
-
Excellent teaching skills, resulting in genuine learning by students.
-
Demonstrated success as a teacher and/or significant progress in aerospace education and its administration.
-
Active participation in pertinent educational and professional societies or other organizations important to aerospace education.
This award shall be given to an aerospace educator who is or has been engaged in teaching and research in some field of aerospace education; however, in exceptional circumstances, it may be awarded to others who have made a substantial contribution to aerospace education.
Nomination Process Documentation:
Anyone can submit a nomination. Self-nominations are also accepted. All applications must include a nomination form. In addition, on a separate page, please provide the following essential nominee information and supporting documentation / material that enhances the nomination:

A letter describing why your nominee deserves to receive this award, including a short synopsis (500 words or less) of your nominee's effort to promote aerospace education.

Three (3) letters of endorsement for your nominee from someone other than the nominator.

A list of awards and achievements received by your nominee that emphasize aerospace or related fields, as applicable.

A description of the nominee's units / activities showing how aerospace education is integrated into his or her instruction.

A list of nominee's previous teaching positions, including schools, dates, levels and / or disciplines.

Nomination packages for this award must be postmarked by January 31 .
Award Elements:
Award recipients will be announced at a ceremony in early September. They will be featured on the Minnesota Department of Transportation - Aeronautics, Aviation Educator Hall of Fame website.
